The University of Bologna and the Department of Political and Social Sciences wanted to transform the project of a videogame into reality as part of the ID48 project (Bando Bric 2016). The goal was to raise awareness among high school students on workplace safety in three specific areas: agriculture, manufacturing and construction.
The project was developed using Unreal Engine and we completed a playable Beta version in just over a month. The Beta version was then presented to 3 sample schools (as per the requirements of the DSPS project). This allowed us to create the game-play together with the kids. A few months later we proposed a video game (with LowPoly graphics) where the player takes on the role of a Jr. Safety Officer and must ensure the safety of their team.
